Library Information:
Salem Middle School’s Library Media Center is available
for student use from
8:20 AM to 4:00PM.
During the school day students may visit the LMC with teachers,
a teacher signed planner, and S.A.L.E.M. time. When a student
visits with a planner, we ask them to sign in. Students also
sign in before school. |
DESTINY:
Destiny
(available only at school), our new computerized
card catalog, has not only information about the books located
in the Library Media Center, but links for online research sites
and teacher resource links. Students may access Destiny from
any computer at Salem Middle School. |
Book Checkout:
Students are allowed to have five books checked out as long
as none are overdue. To check out library materials, a student
MUST have their ID Card. The check out period is two weeks per
item except for Special Check outs such as encyclopedias. Books
may be returned to the LMC or book drops located around the
school. We participate in the Accelerated Reader Program. |
Accelerated Reader Info:
The
Accelerated Reader Program (AR) is offered to the entire student
body. Students can take AR tests in their classrooms as
well as in the library and computer lab. Prizes are awarded
monthly, October through May. Students
are encouraged to participate in this reading program. We look
forward to seeing students using the library. |

Library Computer Use:
Fourteen computers are located in the LMC for student use.
Since these need to be used for Destiny and school projects,
no games are allowed. The computers are for school use only.
